Information Flow Definitions
alarm acknowledge (Near-term)
Confirmation that alarm was received, instructions and additional information for the alarm initiator, and requests for additional information.
alarm notification (Near-term)
Notification of activation of an audible or silent alarm by a traveler in a public area or by a transit vehicle operator using an on–board device.
transit vehicle conditions (Near-term)
Operating conditions of transit vehicle (e.g., engine running, oil pressure, fuel level and usage). It includes status of other on–board systems including user displays, passenger counters, and security systems. This overall status information is also collected from unused (out of service) vehicles.
transit vehicle location data (Near-term)
Current transit vehicle location and related operational conditions data provided by a transit vehicle.
transit vehicle schedule performance (Near-term)
Estimated times of arrival and anticipated schedule deviations reported by a transit vehicle.
